This YouTube channel is my effort to capture a quickly drawn cell phone sketch using technology that is available to me. It has developed through happenstance as I explore what is required to create these films. My first three videos were filmed with an iPhone 14 but the most recent shorts were filmed with an iPhone 4. I am surprised at how well the iPhone 4 does at capturing the drawing process and it may be that the older technology adds to the atmosphere of these short films. There is a sonic component that takes place with these drawings as a result of the 16x speedup in the middle of the film causing any background sound or music to be sped up along with the drawing. This creates a strange audio effect that i find to be a compliment to the frenetic nature of these segments. For this drawing project I have chosen to sketch small objects that allow for a close view of both the subject and the the drawing in progress. At present I am drawing objects that represent a variety of common technologies.
